Data Blueprint Awarded Data Management Practices Assessment Contract with Army CIO/G6

Richmond, VA - Data Blueprint, a data management and IT consulting firm headquarted in Richmond (VA), has been awarded a contract by the United States Department of the Army, Office of the Army CIO/G-6 organization, to assess the Army's data management practices and its data strategy.

The Office of the Army CIO/G-6 vision, as documented in their "Army Campaign Plan, 2008-2015", which documents the Army's information technology plans, is to "Deliver a joint net-centric information enterprise that enables warfighter decision superiority." As part of this mission, the Army's goal is to institutionalize and make data visible, accessible, understandable, trusted, and interoperable to the warfighter. Data Blueprint will support the Army's Campaign Plan by evaluating the Army's data management practices, policies, procedures and data strategy using Data Blueprint's scientifically-proven Data Management Practices Assessment (DMPA) methodology. The DMPA process is based on the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model (CMM), and provides best-practices benchmarks for comparison.

"The Army understands the importance of data management," cites Susan Carter, Data Blueprint President and CEO. "They have already begun the daunting task of aligning its organization, and documenting their systems, data and business processes as part of the Army Net-Centric Data Strategy. With our DMPA methodology, coupled with the data management expertise and experience of our consultants, and the in-depth knowledge of the Army staff, we can help the Army continue to move forward to deliver the information required to make critical decisions to support those in the battlefield."
