Data Blueprint’s Unique Value Proposition (UVP)

Organizations produce vast amounts of data from widely disparate and unmanaged sources.  This data is analyzed and utilized to make rapid and unerring decisions.  Data Blueprint enables organizations to obtain and sustain data empowerment by leveraging applicable technologies to reduce costs, increase efficiencies and productivity, increase governance, and improve decision-making.  In industry, poor quality data leads to poor decisions and lost revenue.  In Government, poor quality data costs lives and endangers national security.

PAST PERFORMANCES

U.S. Army CIO/G-6's Net-Centric Data Strategy Implementation
Challenge:

  • Assess data practices at all levels
  • Identify factual information on current state of data
  • Define policy issues concerning data management
  • Solve urgent and confidential personnel issue
  • Create support for data strategies for Communities of Interest

Response:

  • Conducted full Data Management Practices Assessment (DMPA) to identify areas for improvement and best practices;
  • Worked with agency to define DM policies that are repeatable and meet organization’s strategic goals;
  • Created tangible prototype to address confidential personnel issue;
  • Proved logistical support for 18 communities of interest;
  • Conducted teaching seminars for CIO G6.
  • As a result of this project, Data Blueprint has an on-going and growing relationship with the U.S. Army.

DoD’s Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Business Systems Modernization Transformation Program
Challenge:

  • Migration of data describing billions of line items procured for the Armed Forces

Response:

  • Conducted a data quality assessment and data cleansing effort which significantly improved the agency’s data quality;
  • Streamlined the data migration process;
  • Created an approach for DLA to maintain their data quality and ensured that the procurement process would continue to deliver support to our American War Fighters.

"This is a technical feat that no contract has been able to implement in the more than three decades that our system has been running."   Tony Berta Program Manager, Technical Quality, Headquarters DLA

USMC’s Data Quality/Profiling efforts for the Total Lifecycle Management program
Challenge:

  • Improve the combat effectiveness of the operating forces
  • Support emerging doctrine and war fighting strategies
  • Support impacts on ship designs and acquisitions
  • Provide data profiling, cleansing and data governance
  • Reduce anomalies and errors through better labeling and tracking of equipment in order to positively impact war fighting efforts

Response:

  • Conducted data quality and profiling initiative on six data sources
  • Identified approximately $5 billion of equipment that does not tie out between the LUAF and RTLS
  • Discovered that roughly $531 million of SAC 3 items have duplicated serial numbers
  • Engaged to assist on a larger, more inclusive data profiling/cleansing/integrating project

DoD’s C.W. Bill Young Marrow Donor program
Challenge:

  • Revolutionize data architecture with a specific focus on providing increased operational efficiency as the workload and number of registered bone marrow donors continues to rise
  • Need for a unified and consistent system including data constraints and dependencies to produce a normalized and functional database worthy of hosting results critical to the success of the national bone marrow registry

 Response:

  • Provided faster, more automated systems that enabled a more simplified workflow and improved turn-around time between initial donation and full-blown life saving transplants by integrating multiple disparate databases into one
  • Reduced errors in file naming, data transfers and updated records
  • Enabled decreased turn-around times to connect patients with potential donors in a faster, safer, and more reliable manner

“Previously, I had to look in many different databases to get the information that I needed – now all of that information is stored in one database. (…) The Allelos software is able to communicate with other applications so the different lab sections can import their results into the same database and we can see each other’s results easily – no more cut/paste or typographical errors from manual entry.” – Carly Massaberg, SSO Large Volume Testing Supervisor
